Continuing on my trip to Switzerland, Zurich is by far my favourite and with the tips below, I am sure you can also get the most out of this wonderful city.
Top 5 things to do in Zurich
#1 Try the cheese fondue – Swiss Chuchi
Swiss Chuchi is my number one recommended restaurant for cheese fondue. It is actually the restaurant of a vintage petite hotel inside the old town
What if Swiss Chuchi is full? You may go to Le Dézaley, it offers good fondue too!
#2 Explore the old town
I know it sounds cliche to visit the old town in Europe but, here the pictures speak for themselves 🙂
#3 Swim outdoor under sunlight
Guess it is a unique thing to do in Switzerland – chill at the lakeside in the opened “bath” bar.
#4 Visit the oldest vegetarian restaurant in the world – Hiltl
The place will totally change your perception towards vegetarian dishes – they can be tasty, fun and full of varieties.
#5 Go around the lake by boat or on foot
People usually know Zurich that limits to its city centre (i.e. central station area), if you happened to visit local’s residential area, you will be amazed by the beautiful neighborhood. One easy and cost-effective way is to go around by the city boat tour at pier #3

Need more ideas? Below are things I planned but couldn’t make it the last minute 😦 Let me know if you have been there and how’s the place~
Tired of historical sites and traditional European sceneries? Here you can see the completely different side of Zurich, artistic and energetic. Frau Gerolds Garten means Mrs Gerolds’ garden, which is one of the coolest restaurants you can find in Zurich. It operates more like a night market next to the old industrial area, where you find creative cuisines and theme each time you visit here. One thing to note is do check the opening hours before you plan your visit, it closed under bad weather and public holidays.
Dinning in a real historical site – you have to go to Zeughauskeller. Here offers traditional swiss food except cheese fondue, and at a reasonable price. Don’t miss this spot if you are a wurst/sausage-fan 🙂
